Mr. Arsali specializes in the litigation of complex real estate matters on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. He has extensive experience litigating cases at both the trial and appellate levels in both state and federal courts. Mr. Arsali’s practice also includes acting as general counsel for condominium and homeowners’ associations as well as facilitating and insuring complicated real estate closings as a settlement agent. After growing up in Palm Beach County, Mr. Arsali attended the University of Florida where he graduated in two years with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and Criminology. After graduating from the University of Florida at the age of 19, he attended the University of Virginia School of Law where he attained his Juris Doctorate as one of the School’s youngest graduates at the age of 22. During his time at the University of Virginia School of Law, Mr. Arsali practiced as a Student Prosecutor with the City of Staunton Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. He tried hundreds of criminal matters including acting as first-chair in multiple felony trials. Mr. Arsali started his legal career at Boies, Schiller, and Flexner LLP, a powerhouse litigation firm, where he worked on high-profile litigation matters for a number of the firm’s institutional clients. After his two years at Boies, Mr. Arsali was a federal law clerk to the Honorable John E. Steele of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida in Fort Myers. Defended Barclays Capital in its multi-billion dollar litigation stemming from the purchase of Lehman Brothers’ assets after its collapse in September 2008. Experience included becoming “resident expert” on mortgage backed securities and their transfers in response to an investigation brought by the Securities Investor Protection Act Trustee. Assisted Carnival Cruise Line in defeating a preliminary injunction sought by SeaMiles to prevent Carnival (and Barclays) to proceed without SeaMiles in a co-branded credit card program. Acted as “pool counsel” providing individual representation to current and former Galleon Group executives and employees as part of the largest ever insider trading trial of Raj Rajaratnam, the founder and general managing partner of the Galleon Group. Represented a class of current and former Countrywide Financial Corporation employees in an action against Countrywide for violating the California Labor Code by failing to pay or untimely pay bonuses. Brought an action against British Petroleum on behalf of the Oklahoma Attorney General under the Oklahoma Consumer Protection Act for manipulating the commodities markets for gasoline and other refined petroleum products.
